Consolidated Communications warns against telephone fraud
The company recently learned that some of its customers have been contacted by people claiming to be Consolidated Communications employees. The callers say the customer’s services will be disconnected if they do not provide a credit card number.
Consolidated Communications employees or representatives will never contact customers and demand immediate payment. Customers can confirm they are speaking with a Consolidated Communications employee by asking the representative to confirm their billing address or the amount of their last bill.
While Consolidated Communications will take credit card payments over the phone, customers are always given several payment options.
Gary Patrem, Director of Customer Service, said customers who have any doubts at all that a call from Consolidated Communications is legitimate should call their local Consolidated Communications Customer Service number to ensure they are paying through the secured company automated system.
If you receive a call that you believe to be fraudulent or if you would like to speak with a representative, please contact Consolidated’s Customer Service department at 1-866-989-2255.
