When subscribing monthly to two or more calling features, a multiple feature discount is applied. You can order these services on line quickly and easily by clicking here.

Caller ID - $3.50/Month
Allows you to see the number of the person who is calling you on your Caller ID unit*, or compatible telephone, before you answer the phone. If those you call have Caller ID, your number will show on their unit, even if you have a non-published or semi-private number. To prevent this, blocking options are available and are described in the Caller ID Instructions.

*Display unit must be purchased separately

Caller ID Deluxe - $6.00/Month

Allows you to see the name and number of the person who is calling you on your Caller ID unit*, or compatible telephone, before you answer the phone. If those you call have Caller ID Deluxe, your name and number will show on their unit, even if you have a non-published or semi-private number. Call Forwarding - $2.50/Month
Call Forwarding allows you to leave your home without missing important calls.  While your calls are being forwarded:

  • Your phone will ring once when a call to your number is being forwarded, but you will not be able to answer it.
  • You can still make outgoing calls from the forwarded phone, but do not hesitate when dialing the numbers.
  • If possible, you should let others know that calls to your number are being forwarded elsewhere.
  • You will be billed applicable toll charges for the forwarded call, rated from your telephone to the "forward to" number.

Call Forwarding with Remote Activation - $2.50/Month
Call Forwarding with Remote Activation allows you to activate and deactivate your call forwarding and to change the "forward to" number from a remote location.

Scheduled Call Forwarding - $2.50/Month
Scheduled call forwarding allows you to decide in advance when and where to forward your calls. You can forward calls based on a recurring weekly schedule, or just choose individual dates.

Once this feature is active, just log in to Self Care and click the "Manage Scheduled Call Forwarding" button to set up your forwarding schedule in advance! See instructions for more information on this new feature.

Select Forward routes important callers to an alternate phone number of your choice.  You can store up to 12 numbers on your forward list.

Call Waiting ID - $1.00/Month
Call Waiting ID works in conjunction with Caller ID and Call Waiting. It identifies the caller on your Caller ID unit when you hear a call waiting tone, allowing you to choose whether you want to answer the incoming call, ignore it, or return the call.

The Call Waiting with Caller ID feature requires subscription to one of the Caller ID features (either Caller ID or Caller ID Deluxe) and the Call Waiting feature. It also requires a Caller ID unit that is Call Waiting compatible (provides Spontaneous Call Waiting Identification.)  A monthly charge applies for this feature in addition to Caller ID and Call Waiting charges.

Do Not Disturb - $2.50/Month
Helps you eliminate telemarketing calls and provides uninterrupted personal time when you desire.

Telemarketing Block

Telemarketing Block deters telemarketers from calling you. When Telemarketing Block is active, all callers hear this message:

"If your call is of a telemarketing, survey, or solicitation nature, please hang up now. These calls will not be accepted. Otherwise, from your touch-tone phone, dial 1 plus the pound sign to complete this call."

The phone will not even ring unless the caller presses "1 #."  Plus, if you subscribe to North Pittsburgh Telephone Company Voice Mail, callers hear this additional message, presenting another option:

"Or, stay on the line to leave a voice mail message."

Using the internet, you can designate a Preferred Caller List of up to 50 phone numbers that will bypass the Telemarketing Block feature. That way, family and friends won't have to listen to the anti-telemarketing message every time they call.

Privacy Control

Privacy Control allows you to put your phone in a "time-out" mode so that only people you want to talk to can reach you. When the Privacy Control feature is active, all callers hear the following message:

"The party you have reached does not wish to be disturbed at this time. From your touch-tone phone, please enter a PIN followed by the pound sign to complete this call or hang up now."

Your phone rings only when someone to whom you've entrusted your PIN (personal identification number) enters the code.

If you subscribe to North Pittsburgh Telephone Company Voice Mail, the message ends differently. Instead of instructing callers to hang up if they don't know your PIN, it invites them to leave you a message:

"Otherwise, dial 1 plus the pound sign, or stay on the line to leave a voice mail message."

Priority Call - $2.50/Month
Priority Call will announce important callers with a special ring.  You may list up to 12 phone numbers on your Priority Call list.

Repeat Call - $2.50/Month
Repeat Call allows you to redial the last number you called and keep redialing that number if it is busy.

With Repeat Call, once the number you have redialed becomes free, you will be alerted with a callback ring.

You may use your line for other calls even if you have activated Repeat Call.  When your line and the one you are trying to reach are free, your Repeat Call will go through.

Return Call - $2.50/Month
Return Call can be used to identify (and call) the last number that called you whether the call was answered or unanswered.

OR

to redial a number when you've ignored a Call Waiting tone.  (You must also subscribe to Call Waiting.)

Return Call is available on a monthly subscription basis for unlimited use.  Return Call can also be used on a per-use basis at a charge of $.50 for each time you are successfully informed of the number of your last incoming call.

Select Accept - $2.50/Month
When the Select Accept service is activated, you'll receive calls only from those on your acceptance list. 

Callers who are not on your list will be blocked and will hear an announcement that you are not accepting calls at this time.

When your service is turned off, you will receive calls normally.

Voice Mail is a service that allows callers to leave a message for you when you're unable to answer the phone or you're on the phone with someone else.  It works like an answering machine, only better!

Call Trace (No Activation Required-Per Use Basis) - $1.00/Per Use
Customer Originated Trace (COT) allows you to trace annoyance calls. 

This feature is available on your line to use immediately.  You do not need to place an order to activate. 

If you are a single party residence customer, your telephone line is equipped with the Customer Originate Trace (COT) *57 feature. 

Take notice that there is a one dollar ($1.00) charge for each call that is traced.  You will not be charged for calls that cannot be traced.  A recorded message will tell you if the call was traced.

Three Way Calling Per Use (No Activation Required) - $0.50/Per Use
Three Way Calling on a per use basis puts you in conference with two other conversations.  Add a third party to an existing call placed or received by you, local or long distance.  You can have a three way conversation without a monthly subscription to Three Way Calling.

This feature is available on your line to use immediately.  You do not need to place an order to activate.
